STEVE BAUR

Before joining Canada Basketball, Baur spent six seasons as the Head Coach of Acadia University's men's program and helped guide them to four appearances at the CIS Men's Basketball Final 8 Championship.  During his time with the Axemen, Baur also led the team to an Atlantic University Sport (AUS) championship in 2012 and was named AUS Coach of the Year the following season.

 

Prior to his head coaching role with Acadia, Baur served as an Assistant Coach with the team for the previous four seasons.  Baur began his university coaching career as an Assistant Coach with Brandon University, where he spent one season each with the men's and women's programs.

 

A native of Sackville, Nova Scotia, Baur also spent five season as a head coach, assistant coach and mentor with Basketball Nova Scotia. Baur is a graduate of advanced coaching diploma (Toronto) and is in training for Canada Basketball’s training to win certification.

JESSICA ROQUE

Jessica Roque is currently in her 3rd season as lead assistant for the Ryerson University women's basketball team. Before switching over to USport, she spent the 2015-16 season as an assistant coach at Cleveland State University in the NCAA. Roque also played four seasons for the Vikings from 2006-2010 and helped her team earn two Horizon League championship titles - the first in team history - and the program's first two appearances at the NCAA tournament.

 

Roque also served on the U17 Team Ontario staff that earned silver at the 2017 Canada Summer. A Toronto resident, she takes pride in player development both in and out of season.    

RICHARD NURSE

Coach Nurse has been coaching for over 20 years at the Club Level with Hamilton Transway. He has coached at all age groups from U10 to U19. For the last 10 years he has run and managed one of the premier girls AAU development and recruiting organizations in Ontario Canada Drive Basketball Development. He has won 14 Ontario Basketball Gold medals and has been instrumental in the development of CIS,  NCAA and Provincial basketball players  such as Taylor, Smith, Marie Warner, Christina Buttenham,  Kia Nurse and many more.  Coach Nurse also serves as the Program Director.

NATE MCKIBBON

Nate McKibbon is the current Head Coach, Women's Basketball at Mount Royal University and an Assistant Coach with the Cadette Women's National Team.  Prior to his time in Calgary, AB he spent 18 years coaching at all levels (high school, club, provincial team, university) in his native Ontario.  Over his 22 years coaching he has been a part of 10 provincial and 2 national titles.

ANDREW BAILLIE

Coach Baillie is in his 15th year of coaching basketball. He is currently an Assistant with the McMaster Women’s team in his 4th year after spending 2 years on the Marauders Men’s staff. He spent 2 years as the Head Coach of the Lincoln Prep Huskies Womens team who won back to back provincial championships in the OSBA.  Before coaching at Lincoln, he led both boys and girls teams at Ancaster High School for 12 years. Andrew is the Director of the RA Riddell Basketball Academy in the HWDSB where he is a Phys Ed teacher. Coach Baillie is from Ancaster where he currently lives with his wife Laura and three children Leah, Graham and Rhys. 

MIKAELA BERZA

Mikaela Berza is currently in her second season as an assistant coach for the Bill Crothers S.S girls prep program. Berza is the Head Coach for two Centre for Performance pods with Ontario Basketball and is an assistant coach with the UOIT Ridgebacks. From 2011-2016, she worked for the Ryerson Rams where she was the special assistant to the men's basketball head coach and during that time from 2013-15 was also the assistant coach and video coordinator of the women's team. To add, she has been a team and camp manager for Canada Basketball, a role she started in 2012. During that time she has worked with the senior men's and women's teams, U19/18 men's and U17/16 women's national teams, and the women's national development team in 2014.
